- Fragments of memories

Hokay, so, it's 2 a.m. I've only done creative stuff today. I cleaned the entire room and vaccumed ('cept for the stuff shoved into my "closet". The closets of Warren Towers are actually large cavities in the wall with a cloth curtain over them. Ingenious really). The only thing left messy is my desk.

Now you think, "Yes, Shagun, this is all quite entertaining as we procrastinate during finals week, but what's the purpose of all this?" Well, I saw Yolanda's xanga and the last entry is from the beginning of the school year and she's got this note about how she misses me because there aren't any crazy brown people at PSU. This made me feel guilty for not posting in either xanga or LJ. So, what the hell, here goes.

'Tis the end of semester, and all through the halls, not a note of loud music can be heard through the walls. Except maybe yesterday when we were playing a card game and playing loud Indian music. This is actually what I spend my weekends doing - staying in with the occasional dinner, movie, shopping trip. No partying, drinking, clubs, or sex. Sorry to disappoint you. That's mostly my roommate, who makes me look jaded and practical. Go figure. I've fallen in with the upperclassmen, since my class is too busy doing stupid freshman things. Actually, it's probably because I get starved for intellectual conversation and unbridled insanity (I expect much of that over break). IB has ruined my social skills. My academic skills too, I don't think I've ever done a paper anytime but the day before its due and still manage to pull a nice grade. Also, I live with fobs. Lots and lots of fobs. They are wonderful and I love them ^_^. Unfortunately, Lydia is graduating, Sarah and Vidya will get an apartment, and Annetta is going to Harvard next semester. So I'll run off to the Classics House with my fellow Archaeology majors, who are made up of a lot of crazy girls (and a few guys) who are eccentric, really like anime, and get excited about stone tools. Yes, I love my job-to-be.

It snowed yesterday. It also thundered, rained, sleet-ed and windstorm-ed. Nice to watch from the large windows, not nice if you wanted to be outside in it. I should start making a book of all the different kinds of snow we get here, like that guy in Hitchhiker's who had a number for every kind of rain except he was actually a rain god and so he was perpetually being rained on.

Nicest thing about college is all the shortcuts you can take. My AP/IB credits allowed me to get sophomore status (yeah, I would have been most unhappy if they hadn't helped in any way, shape or form), so I can graduate early with an major in archaeology and a minor in anthropology. I'll have to do 5 courses a year, but that's not too bad, it's actually easier to keep up a GPA since you have a more things to average. Also, having gen ed credits count towards your major is lovely since it saves me from taking crap classes.

I can't think of anything else to say, but I do know that I have to go to Barnes and Noble tomorrow (we have one on campus, it has FIVE levels!!!) with Lydia to find pajamas for Annetta, who wants one with a tail for Christmas. We're going to make her one. ^_^

Immense et rouge

Et te trouver
Là où tu es

First and foremost, a note to the esteemed neurologist, Dr. Stephen Berger. You may recognize him from his studies on how plants don't have feelings, as was cited in a certain TOK presentation junior year.

Dear Stephen,

LOOK, I'M POSTING!!!!!!

Love, Me

Anyways, as I hurtle towards college move-in day, I think it rather pertinent to inform the people who don't read/know about the LJ that I've got a new cell phone number. I've got unlimited calls and text messaging and all that, but the number is a Massachusetts area code. Thusly, it may unhappily be long distance for some of you. I'm not going to post the number here, so I'll try to get around to most of you on AIM. The old number now belongs to my sister, so DON'T CALL IT. Anyways, best wishes to all of you already in class.
